CUBE Engineering sets new strategic milestone

Partner Jörg Beland relocates to open office in Menlo Park, California

Kassel / Palo Alto, 01.08.09

With the August 1, 2009 founding of CUBE Engineering America, LLC in Menlo Park, California, the CUBE group is establishing a permanent presence in the booming North American wind market. A sister company of CUBE Engineering GmbH, CUBE America will unite German experience with knowledge and expertise in the American market.

"Until recently, the U.S. market was still very volatile and dependent on short-term political support measures," says Jörg Beland, a co-founder and Director of CUBE, who relocated to California to head the new CUBE Engineering America. "The development of the last few years, as well as the measures adopted at the beginning of 2009 by the new Obama administration, can be expected to foster a very stable situation with rapidly increasing development the coming years. We want to help with that."

The opening of the new office has meant a reshuffle in the upper echelons of CUBE. Jörg Beland will leave the management of CUBE Engineering GmbH to concentrate solely on building up and managing the new CUBE Engineering America LLC. Stefan Chun will oversee and expand the core business in Europe along with the new markets in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, and also North Africa together with the Mediterranean countries and the Arab world.

The head office in Kassel will remain the port of call for far-flung places in the world and new markets. The CUBE office in Husum will close its doors in the summer. As of August 1, 2009, CUBE’s project management and planning business will be concentrated in Germany’s emerging wind-energy hub at Hamburg on the River Elbe under the management of Susanne Siefert.

Adieu Husum

CUBE is saying goodbye to our traditional location in Husum. As of August1, 2009, our colleagues will move from Husum to the Hamburg office, opened in 2008, to strengthen the Project Management Department there.

This move allows us to better accommodate the ever-increasing demands for accessibility and ease of communication between locations. Under the direction of Dipl.-Ing. Susanne Siefert, the P & P team becomes almost complete and looks forward to new challenges on the Elbe.
